Porterville Strings is pleased to begin a local youth orchestra experience for mid to upper level students who play violin, viola, cello, and double bass who have playing experience.
Orchestra Rehearsals will be held on Tuesdays from 6:00pm-8:30pm & Saturdays from 9am-12:00pm in the Bartlett Middle School MPR. The rehearsal time frame includes small group instrument sectionals and full ensemble practice.
Yearly program tuition of $600 is charged at a cost of $300 per semester.
Families are expected to pay half of the semester tuition ($150), and the student is responsible for fundraising the other $150 each semester.
The first $75.00 payment is due upon registration; the second $75.00 payment to be completed before the end of the first semester. This process is the same for the second semester.
Students who audition for and earn a partial or full scholarship towards private lessons through the Tulare County Symphony League will have their scholarship applied toward program tuition.
The average scholarship awarded is $250 per year, which will be applied toward the student’s overall tuition.
Scholarship opportunities: Students have the opportunity to audition and earn a full or partial scholarship towards private lessons with the Tulare County Symphony League. Students will commit to 10 private lessons per semester with a private teacher provided by Porterville Strings. Porterville Strings staff will guide lesson scheduling based on teacher and student availability.
